About the author

Lucy’s background includes bringing up her sons, working in sustainability, and growing food. After her sons left home, influenced by the work of Vandana Shiva, Satish Kumar and Scilla Elworthy, Lucy left home too, for a gap year with her £200 and a rucksack. Three years later she returned and retrained in Ayurveda and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, supporting people with their health issues and stress levels.

Towards the end of her training she started writing what was initially to be a handbook for her clients, this went on to become,“…not only a collection of Ayurvedic wisdom about healthy food and living, but also a strong potential source of nourishment for communities.” –  Mike Zeidler Director at Happy City Initiative. Sebastian Pole Ayurvedic and Traditional Herbal Medicine Practitioner, co-founder of Pukka Herbs says “If you follow the insights in this book that suit you best, you will definitely find comfort in ‘Your Peaceful Belly”.

During Lucy’s three gap years she had many conversations with people in relation to gifting and community. This, along with the experience of bringing up two boys on and below the U.K. poverty line, led her to want to get a balance between gifting and being financially stable. For this reason, one third of the royalties from ‘Your Peaceful Belly’ will go to  sustain: alliance for better food and farming to support community food projects, and one third will go to  Sakya Dechen Buddhism  a charity that supports Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Lama Jampa Thaye, from whom she has been receiving authentic and down to earth Buddhist teachings for the last 13 years.
